a parisian saloon
In a small Texas town that was once overtaken by flame, BonFire corrals the element as something to gather around.
In 1916, a fire devastated Paris, Texas – but not the people in it. BonFire emerged as a way to remember but reframe fire as something hopeful, a force that brings the town together. Here, you get the feeling of a refined French bistro infused with big Texas swagger. Sophisticated meets rustic. Softness in curve and textile balances raw and industrial in material. Burned wood, copper, and fire itself usher in the flames of the past. The vibe is laid-back, easy, welcoming. Nothing is overly fussy, just warm – a good reflection of Paris and Texas itself.
Custom upholstered steel panels hang from soffits to respect the historic brick while offering opportunites for art, light, and noise mitigation.
We designed the restaurant around these shoes. As a part of the branding process, our client was asked what shoes their restaurant might wear – and they produced this pair. It quickly became our north star for design: with every move we made, we asked ourselves whether the shoes belonged in the world we were creating.
The restrooms became jewel boxes of color, pattern, and fun. Who doesn’t love to come back to the table and tell their companions that they have to see the bathrooms?
