Urban Retreat

Driving by this South Austin home, you’re likely to miss it from the street.

The property has the distinct sense of being in its own calm universe: two inward-facing structures separated by a pool courtyard, tucked behind a high fence and surrounded by live oaks. We tried to capture this serene feeling in our approach to outfitting the interior spaces: capturing light, warmth, texture, and using deep jewel tones to create a sense of tranquility.

In the casita, we replaced an existing vanity with a vintage cabinet, added a soapstone top, new mirror, deep-sea wallcovering, and an RO faucet for functionality.

We created a retreat in the primary bedroom: custom walnut and upholstered bed, deep blue lime wash, and a ledge for art allow for serene and inspired respite.
