GRANDMA WOULD BE PROUD 

Murray’s is a neighborhood watering hole that lives outside of time and space.  

It’s a throwback to the classic New York City style tavern, with a cordial nod to Texas. It's an ode to Grandma Murray, Austin bar aficionado Travis Tober's spitfire of a grandmother. The vibe inside is energetic and cozy. It’s filled with motion and laughter, warmth and glow. It feels worn-in, like it’s been there forever. The bartenders are knowledgeable, efficient, and not above giving you a hard time, just because they like you. Murray’s feels like old-school New York, a breather from the burgeoning newness that surrounds. It’s a tribute to those who came before and a gift to those who will come after. It’s a toast to a life well-lived.

The interior entry has curtains on both sides as a nod to restaurant vestibules in New York winters.

A private dining room in the back has pattern and color and photos of the famous types that might have darkened the doors in NYC.

Antique doors were retrofitted to fit on the front of the building to give you a clue that you’re about to step back in time.
